About the Event:
Celebrate Fascinating Thaitown 2025!  Join us on Saturday 8th February a vibrant and cultural celebration as an official event program of the Sydney Lunar Festival. We are commemorating the auspicious Year of the Snake with our Thai culture, cuisine, and traditions.

The City of Sydney has returned our annual Lunar New Year Thai gate located at the start of Thaitown on the corner of Campbell and George Street. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of our Thai culture through captivating performances including traditional dance and music.

‍Year of the Snake Celebration Wall: 2 Days  9am - 8th to 9th February
Capture the perfect memory with your families and friends at our artist mural on the 8th and 9th of February. Strike a pose in front of this original artwork by local artist Gabby Malpas who has taken a playful approach to the Year of the Snake by creating a Snake and Ladders Mural. The wall is located at the entrance of Thaitown next to Meriton Suite and Cosy Corner Cafe Bar & Grilled.

Thai Traditional Dance Performance:  Saturday 8th February 11.30 am
We will showcase our traditional dancing with a Thai Dancing Spectacular, a Thai dance performance in authentic costume. Be enchanted by Naga, our Thai serpent like creature from our Thai mythology who will be performing with the dancers.

‍Long Drum Procession: Saturday 8th February 11.50am
After the dancing performances, join us in the rhythmic and energetic long drum procession parading around Thaitown. Feel the pulse of the drums and be part of this vibrant celebration and community, as we honour and welcome the Year of the Snake.

‍Culinary Delights:
Venture to Thaitown and embark on a culinary journey that will tantalize your taste buds with authentic Thai flavours, perfect for ushering in good luck and prosperity for the new year. From savory dishes to symbolic ingredients, each dish has been designed not only to satisfy your cravings but also to bring positive energy for the year ahead.
